Invite you to the First Annual

Summer Starter Drive

June 16, 2001  10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

This drive/ride is a benefit for the Minneapolis Park Police Mounted Patrol.  A $10.00 Donation should be sent along with a completed registration form and current negative Coggins test before June 9, 2001 to:

Rules of Conduct

1. Park Police must be obeyed at all times or you will be asked to leave.

2. Anyone under 18 years of age must wear a helmet while riding.

3. Riders 12 years of age and under must be accompaied by an adult.

4. No passing Trail Boss or carts.

5. Riders must follow carts in an orderly fashion at a safe speed.

6. Riders must stay in line with carts.  No straying onto grass or walking paths.

7. Minneapolis Park rules will all be in force and are to be obeyed.

8. No littering and no alcoholic  beverages are allowed.

9. Every one must sign a wavier before riding.

10. All horses and riders must register one week in advance with a copy of a negative Coggins test attached to the registration form.

11. You are responsible for cleaning up, after your horse.

Liability Waiver  

I understand that horses are dangerous animals under ordinary circumstances, and particularly dangerous when handled by inexperienced and young people, or when an unexpected event occurs.  By signing the liability waiver, I acknowledge that I am accepting the risk that something unexpected may happen and that I might be seriously hurt.  I release the Minneapolis Park Board, and the Minnesota Whips and Wheels Driving Club from and and all responsibilities for injury arising from an accident.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEANING UP AFTER YOUR HORSE.

Directions

• From North or East - 35 W South to 35th St. exit.  Right on 35th St. ( get in left lane as soon as possible) to Nicollet Ave. Left one block to 36th Street.  Turn right to East Calhoun Blvd.  Turn left to parking area.

• From South - 35 W North to lake Street. Turn left to Nicollet Ave.  Left on Nicollet Ave.  go six blocks to 36th and turn right to East Calhoun Blvd.  turn Left to parking area.

• From West - Highway 7 east follow to East Calhoun Blvd. and turn South.  Follow to parking area.
